This syllabus will be glued into your composition book and you will keep this composition book all year. Please refer to this page at any time to remind you of our classroom procedures.
- Beginning of class - You will come into the classroom, sit in your assigned seat, and get organized. Begin the warm-up activity (QQF) displayed on the board.
- Absent? - It is your responsibility to get the make-up work form me if you are absent. Any notes that you miss should be obtained from a fellow student. Pick a note-taking “buddy”. I will give you any assignments you miss, but remember…. you MUST SEE ME. The number of days you missed will determine when the assignments are due. Also, after school tutorial will be permitted upon request to make-up work.
- Neatness of assignments - I have very high expectations of you. Your work should be the best you can do. Please write neatly and present the work to the best of your ability.
- End of the period/day - Before you leave, please check your work area and make sure you are leaving it better than the way you found it. If it is the end of the day, you will need to wait to be dismissed at the appropriate time.
- Changing blocks - You are to line up in the classroom when directed. Otherwise, you are to remain in your seat. You will leave the classroom in an orderly fashion and will walk in the halls quietly since other classes will still be in session.
- Finished early? - READ. Please have a book with you at all times. At the end of the instructional time, you may read or begin working on assignments. No one should be sitting around with nothing to do.
Positive Rewards for appropriate behavior in class may include:
- Verbal praise
- Notes or calls home
- Free time or other special privileges
Consequences for inappropriate behavior in class may include:
- Verbal warning
- Parent contact
- Administrative referral
- Time off team
